AM 590 WOW

A Legend Reborn. AM 590 is one of Omaha's most storied radio frequencies. It first signed on April 2, 1923 as WOAW, and by 1926 became WOW, an NBC affiliate and one of the most powerful broadcast stations in the Midwest. In the decades that followed, the frequency became part of the city's cultural DNA, launching careers including a young Johnny Carson's before he became the king of late night. In 2026, Walnut Media brought the WOW name and the 590 frequency back to their sports roots.
